Gina & Ned

  • Hello! We are Ned and Gina.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us. We are extremely grateful that you are considering adoption.

In this letter, we hope to convey how eager we are to share our love with your baby, and how privileged we would be to raise your child as our own. As you read about us, we hope you’ll gain comfort in knowing we will give your child the very best life we can.

Becoming parents and growing our family has been a dream for us for many years. We are excited about making our dreams of raising a family come true via adoption.

    About Us

We both grew up in Northern California and met in high school. While we were in high school, we hung out as friends even though we both had secret crushes on each other. When we ended up at the same college, we started dating the first month and have been together ever since.

A few years after college, we got married and were excited to start a family. After many years of infertility, we embraced adoption as a way to make our dreams of raising a family come true. We have wished to become parents for a long time and are confident we can give a child a loving, stable and fun home to live in.

After college, we moved back to our hometown to be closer to family and friends. Living away from home made us appreciate what a great area we live in with beautiful landscape, lots of fun activities close by and diversity among people and beliefs.

Being outside and enjoying the fresh air is something we take pleasure in. Tennis, swimming, canoeing and hiking are a few of our favorite activities we like to do together. We are fortunate to live very close to lots of beautiful hiking trails, which we love to explore on foot or bike. We are supportive of each other’s interests and hobbies. Ned is always front row at Gina’s league tennis matches and vice versa with Gina being at Ned’s adult soccer and basketball games. We look forward to being in the front row and number one fans at our child’s games as well just like our parents were with us (and still are)!

Family is very important to us. Our parents and extended family – siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins – live in close proximity to us. Every Sunday night, we have family dinners with both our parents and siblings. Holidays are spent locally with our families with big dinners, sporting events like football and basketball and lots of love and laughter. We are excited to share our traditions like opening presents on Christmas morning and looking for Easter eggs with our child. We often go on family vacations with each of our families to places like Hawaii and Disneyland. These trips are a time for us to be together, have fun and make great memories. Our parents have been very supportive of us from the time we were little to now. They are looking forward to being grandparents and playing an active role in our child’s life.

We are very fortunate to have great friends – most of whom we have known since before high school - in our lives. On the weekends, we are usually hanging out with friends and their families having BBQ’s and playing games like Apples to Apples or Head’s Up. Each year, we go on a couple trips with our friends and their kids to places like the lake, the beach or the Tahoe snow. It has been fun watching their families grow and we are looking forward to including a child of our own on these fun trips.

Spending quality time alone together is also very important to us. Our weekly date nights include going to the movies, playing miniature golf or bowling, or attending a professional baseball or basketball game. Doing these types of activities is something we look forward to doing with our child one day. We also love to be together at home. Most of our time together at home is filled with laughter and playing with our dogs. We love to rent movies at home and snuggle in front of the fireplace eating snacks. We take pride in making our home a comfortable and peaceful place to be.

Our dogs are very special to us. Ned surprised Gina with two dachshund puppies for her birthday three years ago. We named the sisters Chloe and Miley. They have been a joy and blessing for us. They are sweet girls who love to play (Chloe loves to play fetch), go to the park and most of all snuggle. We enjoy taking them on long walks through our community and saying hi to our neighbors and their dogs. Before Chloe and Miley, we had another dog named Lewis. We love animals and having pets is something that we both really enjoy.

The people closest to us describe us as a playful, caring and sweet couple who enjoys being active and having fun. We have spent many years together as a couple building a strong foundation for a loving, trusting and happy relationship. We are really looking forward to becoming parents as the next step in our lives. We truly believe it will be the best adventure yet!

    About Gina by Ned

In college, I was eager to try to go on a date with Gina. I knew she loved to play tennis so I bet her that if I could beat her in tennis she would have to take me out to pizza. I was so excited to get the chance to spend time with Gina because she was beautiful, caring, and had a sweet personality. After that first date, Gina and I were inseparable. Her infectious smile and sense of humor makes her special to be around. It wasn’t long before I knew that she was the woman that I wanted to spend my life with.

I’m motivated everyday because I know that I get to come home to Gina. Her cheerful demeanor and optimistic attitude are a pleasure to be around. I enjoy spending time with her and talking about our days. She lets me vent, she listens and she provides a positive outlook and support for every situation. I love to listen to Gina and all that she has to share about her days and what she is feeling. We love to laugh and joke about our everyday happenings. “I wish you were there” is a phrase we often use with each other. We have such a good understanding of one another and a strong connection through communication making every experience meaningful.

I am very proud of Gina and her accomplishments in her professional life. She is the best and sweetest Kindergarten teacher I know. She is always smiling and laughing with the kids. Gina doesn’t hesitate to spend all of her energy to make sure each child gets the attention and guidance that they need to succeed in the academic environment. Watching her work with her students puts a big smile on my face.

Gina is naturally loving and nurturing; mixing just the right amount of sweet and the right amount of toughness. She has a sense of humor that makes any difficult day worth it and the best days brighter. I have known her this way since she caught my eye in high school, throughout our college life, and now everyday.

I am so lucky to be with Gina and I look forward to the opportunity to raise a child alongside her. I know Gina will be the ultimate mom.

    About Ned by Gina

When I think about Ned, I can’t help but smile. I remember playing a tennis match against Ned in high school and I couldn’t concentrate because he was making me smile and laugh the whole time. And it’s been that way ever since. Ned is someone people enjoy being around. His good mood and joyful demeanor instantly put everyone at ease and everyone ends up with a smile when Ned is around. He thoroughly enjoys making people feel good whether it be by making them laugh with his playful personality or by helping them with a problem. I think that is why he thrived as a Personal Trainer for many years – he genuinely enjoys helping people and will do it in a way that makes you smile.

Ned is very devoted to the people (and pets) he loves. I remember when Ned brought home our first dog, Lewis. Ned was so attentive, protective and caring towards him. It showed me how great a dad Ned will be if he is like this with our dog! He will gladly drop everything to help a friend or family member in need and never complain.

Ned has always been a very supportive partner. He will often help me prepare projects for my Kindergarten class at night after work. He’s done everything from helping me grade papers to gluing coconuts on a “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” tree art project. There have also been many weekends where he has come to my classroom to help me hang the student’s work. I know this devotion to his loved ones is something that will only grow once we have a child.

Kids have always been drawn to Ned’s genuine, easygoing attitude. Our friends’ and families’ kids love when “Neddy” is around to play games like hide and seek and keep away with. As a soccer and tennis coach, kids would always want to be on Ned’s team because he is able to find the right balance between being serious and having fun. I know when Ned becomes a dad, he will be the best coach in sports and life to our child.

Ned is smart, hard working and compassionate. He always makes me feel safe and secure. Ned is the best husband and I know he will be the best dad. I’m very proud and thankful to be on his team.

What We hope to Offer A Child

It is our dream to raise a family and we have thought long and hard about how we would do it to the best of our ability. First and foremost, we would provide your child with unconditional love and support. We are financially and emotionally stable and would be able to give a child everything he or she needs. However, we believe one of the most important gifts you can give a child is quality time together. Whether that be doing something extraordinary like going to Disneyland or just simply going for a nice walk around the neighborhood. We will be able to (and look forward to) spending our time with our child. Gina looks forward to doing things like singing songs and reading books before bedtime and Ned looks forward to teaching and playing games. Our road to parenthood has taken longer than expected. However, it has given us the insight of what a true blessing having a child is. We will not take any moment for granted and cherish the opportunity to be parents.

We understand that everyday life is both a joy and a challenge and that raising a child is a giant responsibility that we take very seriously. There is no doubt that we are well equipped with the absolute love and selflessness that is required to raise a child to be happy, confident and successful. We hope to instill strong values including care and respect for others, caring for yourself, building a strong work ethic, development through education, and last but certainly not least, having fun along the way.

    Thoughts on Adoption

We truly appreciate you taking the time to learn about us. With your help we wish to build a strong family. Prior to the birth, we are open to communicating with you via phone, email or text. Once the baby is born and placed in our home, we are willing to send updates, pictures or letters, if that is something you desire. We plan on telling our child they are adopted, and explain how loved they are by so many people. We have the resources and desire to provide the best upbringing for your child. Your consideration for us to adopt would be our blessing.
